DrunkMonk presents Dirty Cello live at Mac’s in Fairfax on Saturday, December 5 for a high-energy night of rock, blues, Americana and bluegrass — with cello at the center of it all.
Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM.
San Francisco-based Dirty Cello puts a completely different spin on the cello.
Led by crossover cellist and vocalist Rebecca Roudman, the band combines high-energy blues, rock and Americana, moving from down-home blues and driving rock to fast, stomping roots music. Dirty Cello’s official bio describes the group as a genre-bending, high-energy act built around Roudman’s cello and powerful vocals.
This is not a quiet classical-cello performance.
Dirty Cello takes the instrument somewhere else entirely — turning it into a lead voice capable of delivering riffs, solos and the kind of energy normally associated with an electric guitar.
