DJ Jenö is one of San Francisco’s most enduring underground dance music figures, with roots going back to the punk scene before he found his way into DJing amid London’s mid-80s warehouse party explosion. As Acid House took hold, he built a name with his own Whoosh parties and early ties to the notorious Tonka Sound System, before heading to San Francisco in the early ’90s in search of a more psychedelic groove – a move that led to the founding of the legendary Wicked Crew and their free outdoor Full Moon parties, which helped define the West Coast rave scene.

By 1995, Jenö and Wicked were touring the country in a restored 1947 Greyhound bus with a custom Turbosound rig, playing everything from early Burning Man to a Jane’s Addiction show. Decades later, he’s still at it – DJing clubs and festivals worldwide, releasing vinyl under the Wicked Records name, and hosting his long-running radio show Noise from the Void, now in its 17th year broadcasting to a global audience.
